The Mazda RX-8 is an exciting all-around sports car with gearheads that are already missing today.
It's no secret that Mazda has a reputation for defying convention with its sports cars.
In its entire history, only a few have been as attractive as the Mazda RX-8. Moving on from the RX-7, Mazda unveiled the RX-8 at the 2001 North American International Auto Show.
Like its predecessor, the RX-8 was powered by the unique Wankel rotary engine.
Going up against cars like the Nissan 350Z and Honda S2000, it comes equipped with a proper rear-wheel drive system and the option of an automatic or manual transmission.
The Mazda RX-8 was introduced to the North American market in 2003, but only eight years later, Mazda ceased production of the model.
It was removed from the European market in 2010 because it did not meet the region's pollution regulations.
Even with its sleek body style, great driving dynamics and distinctive engine, the RX-8 is still surprisingly underpowered.
