Ne-Yo’s wife Crystal Smith reportedly files for divorce after cheating allegations
According to legal documents obtained by The Times, the entrepreneur filed a petition for divorce on Monday from R&B singer Ne-Yo — whose given name is Schaefer Chimere Smith.
"The petitioner is entitled to divorce from the defendant on the ground that the marriage is irrevocably broken and there is no hope of reconciliation," the court document said.
In her Saturday Instagram post, which has since been deleted, Smith said she was living "8 years of lies and deceit" with Ne-Yo.
Echoing Smith's allegations, the petition stated that Ne-Yo had "committed an act of adultery. It also claimed that the singer "recently gave birth to a minor child" with another woman. .
René is married to NE-YO, 42, in February 2016, and the pair have three children together, Isabella Rose, Roman Alexander-Raj, and Shaffer Chimere Jr.
The Grammy-winner's wife also says she has been caring for their three children since the separation, and is seeking primary physical custody and alimony.
NE-YO wrote a response in a message on Twitter. He said, "For the sake of our children, my family and I will tackle our challenges behind closed doors.
