NASCAR World Reacts To Denny Hamlin's Punishment

It's been a few weeks for Denny Hamlin, who was disqualified from his third win of the season just two weeks ago. Today he was faced with a new kind of drama.

During the Firekeepers Casino 400 in Michigan, Hamlin was having a great walk. In Stage One he finished second behind Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Christopher Bell before winning Stage Two.

Things sorted out a bit in stage three. A safety breach, along with a race ruling that there were too many pit members on the wall, resulted in Hamlin being sent to the back of the field.

Hamlin finished third in the race, leaving NASCAR fans bewildered for Hamlin and even beginning to believe the organization had it out for him.

It's been a rough season for Denny Hamlin, to say the least. He did not make the top 12 in the first six races before eventually winning the Toyota Owners 400.

Hamlin then had five more races, where he dropped out of the top 15 before finishing fourth in the AdventHealth 400 and winning the Coca-Cola 600.

In the nine races since then, Hamlin has had three top six finishes outside the race from which he was ineligible.

Ultimately, if Hamlin doesn't win the NASCAR Cup Series in 2022, he'll have more to blame for it than last month. However it does nothing to ease the frustration.
