Kurt Busch Has Announced Decision On Next 2 Races
A week ago, NASCAR driver Kurt Busch said that after simulating the racing environment it "became clear that I'm not ready to get back in a race car".
Unfortunately, an extra week of rest and recovery hasn't done enough. Kurt Busch has announced the decision on the next 2 races.
On Thursday afternoon, Bush announced he was pulling out of the next two races as he continues to recover from a head injury.
"As much as I want to get back in the car, the time is still not right," Bush said in a statement. "Over the past few weeks, I've focused all my efforts on getting better.
To focus solely on my recovery on trying to get back for the playoffs, I will not be competing in the next two races at Watkins Glen and Daytona
"This decision was not an easy one, but the right one," Bush's statement continued. "I need to be racing at 100%.
I know Ty will continue to do a great job in my absence, and I appreciate the competition he has brought to the track." Bush said his goal is to get back in his car for the start of the playoffs.
