Jon Gruden blocked Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski from joining Raiders
Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a package deal in 2020, but apparently only after John Gruden turned down the dynamic duo.
UFC boss Dana White joins "UFC with the Gronks" during the UFC 278 fight card on Saturday night.
During his appearance, White talked about how Gronkowski was drawn to team up with Brady on the Las Vegas Raiders.
White said he was a part of making that deal, but then-Raiders coach John Gruden blew it all out at the last minute.
"I worked with Brady and Gronk's Raiders to put that deal together," White recalled. “And it was almost a done deal.
White only shared the story when Gronk said on air that he spent almost the last few years with White in Las Vegas, prompting Dana to go into details about what happened.
It looks like everything went well for Brady and Gronk in the end. But it's the latest sign that Tampa Bay hasn't always been Brady's No. And it also goes down as another bonehead move by Gruden.
