Football world reacts to Patrick Mahomes news
In his four years as starting quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs, Patrick Mahomes has quickly emerged as one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL.
Mahomes played at Texas Tech from 2014 to 2016 before being drafted by the Chiefs in 2017. The Red Raiders announced on Saturday that they would be inducted into the team's Ring of Honor.
Texas Tech's social media released a stunning video package where Mahomes' friends and family shared their opinions and admiration for Mahomes.
The former MVP winner took a notice of respect from his alma-mater, thanking Texas Tech and expressing gratitude for his time on the program.
"Wow man... I can't explain how admirable I am. Texas Tech has done so much to make me who I am today. I am honored to be away from this great university for the rest of my life!"
During his time on the program, Mahomes particularly stood out during his junior season, where he threw for 5,052 yards with 41 touchdowns and only ten interceptions for the Red Raiders.
Although it is not immediately clear whether Mahomes should have been the top quarterback selected in the 2017 NFL Draft.
Mahomes is already almost accomplished in the football world, but this feat is a new one for him, and one he is extremely proud of.
