Cowboys Injury Update : Lineman Surgery News, CeeDee Lamb, Jourdan Lewis

The Dallas Cowboys, from the jump, were probably asking Matt Waletzko to do too much and now they can't ask him to do anything for a while.

The 6-foot-8-inch rookie from North Dakota was sent into the pivotal role of swing tackle almost immediately.

When the OTAs and minicamps started, some were surprised because it meant he was leaping over Josh Ball.

But now Dallas will have to take solace in the possibility that Waltzko is skipping surgery on his shoulder, hoping to be back on the field later this season.

No CeeDee Lamb today because of that cut in his leg; The Cowboys believe they will return to practice next week when the team returns to Frisco.

As Jordan Lewis goes in for an MRI, it is hoped that the slot-cornered hamstring will allow him to play in Week 1 of the regular season.

Dallas has a roster-related juggling task to perform here. It could place Waletzko on the final 53-man roster on August 30, then move him to the IR.
