Crystal Smith wants to end her marriage to René NE-YO.
Soon after publicly accusing the R&B singer of cheating, René filed divorce documents in Atlanta earlier this week, claiming the pair’s marriage is “irretrievably broken with no hope for reconciliation” following NE-YO’s alleged infidelity.
Ne-Yo’s wife, Crystal Smith, has accused him of fathering a child with another woman as she filed for divorce, it has been claimed.
According to legal documents obtained by The Times, the entrepreneur filed a petition for divorce on Monday from R&B singer Ne-Yo — whose given name is Schaefer Chimere Smith. The petition states that Ne-Yo and Smith separated on July 22, 2022.
Ne-Yo’s wife Crystal Rene Smith has reportedly filed for divorce from the singer after several public allegations that he was cheating on her.
Their marriage has been put under the spotlight over the past few weeks after the founder of Skincare — also known as Crystal René — alleged that the Because of You singer was unfaithful.
In another blast, he has reportedly filed for divorce, accusing the musician of welcoming a fourth child with another woman.
In her Saturday Instagram post, which has since been deleted, Smith said she was living “8 years of lies and deceit” with Ne-Yo.
“8 years to unknowingly share my life and husband who sell their bodies unsafely, every last one of them,” she wrote. “To say that I am heartbroken and disgusting is an understatement. Asking me to stay and accept it is absolutely insane.”
Ne-Yo – whose real name is Shaffer Chimere Smith – responded to his wife’s allegations in a Twitter post on Sunday.
“For the sake of our children, my family and I will face our challenges behind closed doors,” the 42-year-old wrote. “Personal matters are not meant to be addressed and dissected in public forums. All I ask is that you please respect my privacy and that of my family at this time.”
Court documents filed by Smith also said she would seek “primary custody and joint legal custody of the children.”
Krystal requested that followers stop sending her ‘cheating videos or information’ as it was ‘no longer a concern.
“I’m choosing to stand with my head held high. If no one can love you the way you deserve, it’s up to you to love yourself. There’s no hate in my heart, I wish him nothing but the best,” she said.
The now-separated couple had earlier parted ways in February 2020, but reconciled after four months. They then renewed their wedding vows in April 2022 in an elaborate ceremony at a red-themed Las Vegas soiree, having originally tied the knot in 2016. After the ceremony, the couple shared several photos and videos from the big day on Instagram.
They married in 2016 and they share three children together: Schaefer Chimere Smith Jr., Roman Alexander-Raj Smith, and Isabella Rose Smith.
The former couple has faced rough patches in their eight-year romance, and first separated two years ago.
